Gratuitous food shot

My mum says that there are too many shots of food on this little blog of mine.

I can't help it, I love my food!

So this tasty feast is from a week or two ago when a bunch of us went to All Star Lanes in Brick Lane. To celebrate Josh's birthday we had an All American time at the restaurant, enjoyed some karaoke then had a game of bowling.

We had a great time and the food was delicious:

Gone bowling

Mmmm those sweet potato fries were amazing!

Our little garden

Our little garden

In the name of honesty, those roses aren't our handiwork but they are outside our house. They're our downstairs neighbours and right by our front door.

However the fruit are all ours.

Sam has invented a new species: mini strawberries!

He grew them from seed and although they're not exactly edible, they are really cute. And I know that Sam is so proud of them.

The tomatoes are some little babies that my mum gave us and Sam has nurtured them on a little pseudo- balcony outside our window.

We're not exactly self-sufficient yet but I know that when we eventually get our own little patch of land to call our own Sam's green fingers will grow us an entire salad.

Happy Bank Holiday!

I hope you've all been enjoying this long weekend, especially as it's the last Bank Holiday until Christmas.

I've spent the weekend crocheting. Lots of ladies around me are having babies or have already popped one out so I've been busy whipping up some really cute booties:

More crochet booties

They're so cute! But not as cute as these lovely little sandals:

And here's a sweet little pair that have already been given to a baby momma to be:

Baby booties for Kylie

All of these baby booties are making my ovaries jealous!

Olympic Pride

The London 2010 Olympic Games have gripped our nation, and presumably the world!

Olympic Pride

Watching people at the top of their game, whatever their game is and no matter how little prior knowledge I have of it, is simply captivating and is even more enjoyable when it's a team GB member at the front of the pack.

Seeing our little nation jump to 3rd in the medal table makes my heart swell with pride and to celebrate I've crocheted some frames using Lola Nova's pattern.

Truly great Britain

Well done Team GB!
